Mel Warshaw serves as special international tax counsel to Bridge Law’s wealthy clients, often with a personal or family connection to India. In this role he advises U. S. citizens and residents inheriting property or family business interests from parents residing in India. He also advises U. S. citizens and residents who own property or business interests in India. As a lawyer, Mel Warshaw also advises on inbound tax planning for those leaving India for the U. S. as well as U. S. citizens and certain green card holders residing in India wishing to expatriate from the U. S.

Mel Warshaw is a highly regarded international tax and private client lawyer who has been practicing for over 40 years. Prior to his affiliation with Bridge Law, Mel began the McDermott, Will & Emery Private Client practice in the Boston office. Previously, he was a wealth advisor at J. P. Morgan Private Bank. Mel began his career as an attorney in the General Counsel’s Office of the Internal Revenue Service National Office in Washington, D. C. Mel has an L.L.M. in Tax from Georgetown University Law Center.

Mel is a Fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel (ACTEC), an Academician of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law and also serves on the editorial board (international section) of Trusts and Estates magazine. He is a frequent panelist on webinars sponsored by the Society of Trust and Estate Professional (STEP), and he has published often in Trusts and Estates magazine, WealthCounsel Quarterly and other publications.
