Melvin A. Warshaw has 40 years of experience as an estate planning and tax lawyer and currently serves as Of Counsel to Bridge Law’s wealthy international individuals and families who have U. S. connections. Mel’s focus is primarily in the area of international inbound planning for Non-Resident Aliens and Resident Aliens of the U.S. and outbound planning for U. S. persons who own foreign property and businesses.
Mel is a former partner of McDermott Will & Emery’s Private Client Dept., having established the Boston office practice. He also served as a senior wealth advisor in JP Morgan Private Bank’s Boston and Greenwich offices. He also previously served as general counsel to a large national brokerage that focused on delivering liquidity planning strategies through the use of an array of life insurance products. Mel began his legal career in the Office of the General Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service National Office in Washington, D.C.
Mel has been an active member of the Massachusetts bar since 1981. He is a past Chair of the Trusts & Estates Section of the Boston Bar Association. He is currently a Fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation.
Mr. Warshaw received an LLM (Tax) from Georgetown University Law Center. He received a JD from St. Louis University School of Law and he received a BA cum laude from the University of Rochester.
